DOMINO (Domain Industry) is a summer meeting of the national domain and new top-level domain registries organized by the Technical Center of Internet. The meeting will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Moscow – Marina on July 6–7, 2016.
DOMINO was deliberately chosen as the name for our meeting. This exciting and seemingly simple game offers several solutions to any given problem. The options that players choose determine their overall success and their chances of winning.
Our DOMINO is also about looking for the right options, exchanging experience, solving problems on expanding the domain space and improving the interaction between different domain registries.
Purpose of the meeting: This year, we once again are inviting our friends and colleagues from different countries to discuss cooperation of national registrars and new TLDs with registrars and backend providers, share experience in developing new TLDs, and just enjoy networking.
This year’s event program focuses on stability of infrastructure and measures that registrars must take in order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of TLDs. Specifically, participants will discuss options for selecting a backup technical center (Emergency Back-End Registry Operator (EBERO)) and cooperation between the center and TLD administrators and accredited registrars. This topic is particularly important in the run-up to the opening of the second “window” to apply for TLD registration. It is expected that the second stage of the ICANN New gTLD program will begin soon.
Among the speakers are technical experts and Internet data and marketing experts. Additionally, we invited representatives of ICANN, RIPE NCC and other international organizations to take part in DOMINO 2016.
Format: Our DOMINO is also about looking for the right options, exchanging experience, solving problems on expanding the domain space and improving the interaction between different domain registrars.
Participation: Participation in this meeting is free. You will be provided with free one-day accommodation at the, meals, and a seat at a workshop and other business and leisure activities. Your contribution to our meeting is the experience and expertise that you’ll be willing to share with other participants.
